Our Purpose: To reach the world for Jesus, beginning in our community and circles of influence. (Acts 1:8)
Our Values: We treasure the person, character, work and reputation of Jesus. We treasure our peoples. We treasure the Joy experienced through living a Spirit filled life in obedience and service to our Lord. (Matthew 22:37-39; Ephesians 3:16)
Our Mission: To Make Disciples for Jesus. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Our Vision: To see those who are apart from God come to salvation in Christ, with a focus and desire to reach families.
Our Strategy to Accomplish Our Vision: We love, grow, serve, and share.
We love our God in worship, we grow together in Bible study and small groups, we serve the needs of others and we share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We live best when we Love Jesus most.
We grow best when we Grow together.
We look most like Jesus when we Serve others.
We love most like Jesus when we Share the Gospel.
Why do we do all of this? Everything we do has a singular motive: to reveal the Glory of God (His majesty, beauty, and worth) in His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
A group of believers were sent from Haymore Baptist Church to go share the gospel in their community. Through God, new believers were saved and started meeting at the property between Banner, Penn, and Davis Street across from Northern Hosptial in Mount Airy, North Carolina and the Church of Fellowship was established in 1953.
The congregation of Fellowship believed (and still believes) strongly in 1 Timothy 5:17, which states, "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine." A from this conviction decided to build a parsonage to take care of their Pastors in 1970, located on the Davis Street side of their Property.
As the congregation grew, they could no longer fit in the current building, so they decided to build a new sanctuary over on Penn Street in 1983. The church still uses the previous place where they gathered for sunday school, youth, VBS, and serveral other events, but they now meet in the new Sanctuary located on Penn Street for their Worship Services on Sunday Mornings.
Around the 1990's a different group of believers formed a different Fellowship Baptist Church about 20 miles down the road from this Fellowship. So to avoid confusion, the church of Fellowship in Mount Airy added "Missionary" to their name, and to emphasize the church's love for the mission of God.
We are greatful for all God has accomplished through this church, and we are excited to see what all God will do in the near future!
